We had the good fortune to be one of the first to discover this beautiful cottage, in the heart of Slingsby village, recently renovated by the owners David and Charlotte. The cottage has been tastefully modernised whilst retaining many of the original features that provide lots of character. The whole cottage is warm, courtesy of the Aga, very comfortable and well appointed. We didn't need the luxury of the two bathrooms but this will no doubt be a huge benefit to larger family groups. The patio at the back is a welcome sun trap and the huge front garden adds to the tranquil village setting even though it is situated across the road from the excellent village pub.
The cottage is ideally situated for exploring the area either on foot or in the car in the glorious Howardian Hills and to the east coast, a short drive away. Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall are virtually on the doorstep and the foodie town of Malton is a short drive away. All in all this is an ideal location for a country break that allows you to take in lovely market towns, coastal towns, places of historical interest and the breathtaking countryside, classed as an area of 'outstanding beauty'.
“We look forward to our next visit”
We have just had a week in this cozy well equipped cottage, situated in the lovely village of Slingsby with a shop and a pub (the grapes) nearby. We visited Whitby, Castle Howard ,Helmsley, Malton, Dalby forest and Pickering all not far.
The cottage is beautifully decorated to a very high standard with everything you need to have a lovely relaxing holiday. We look forward to our next visit in October.
many Thanks to Charlotte,David and Louis(the dog)
This gorgeous cottage certainly has the WOW factor with its on point attention to detail, spacious living accommodation and convenient position within the village. The location is truly stunning and provides easy access to York and Malton. Would without a doubt recommend to all!
We had a fabulous stay at Toby's Cottage in the lovely village of Slingsby. The front garden was a perfect space for our daughter to play while we enjoyed a glass of wine and watched gentle village life pass by, and the rear courtyard was a lovely space to enjoy breakfast. The cottage is tastefully decorated and very well equipped; we were able to comfortably host a dinner for ten. This spacious cottage would be ideal for two families, but lovely for a family of three too, both cosy and with space to spread out. Trips to the coast, York, Castle Howard and lovely walks in every direction - a perfect holiday! We look forward to our next stay. xx
